All during Obama's tenure, all I heard from conservatives was that we have to do something about our massive national debt. Warning, warning, it's a crisis of epic proportions and the world will end if it's not fixed. That was one of woodchip's biggest whines all through Obama's presidency as well. There was even a campaign signed on by the CEO's of the nation's 5 biggest banks to Fix the Debt. Now that Republicans are in control, there's been nothing but crickets about the issue. Nary a peep. You can now hear a pin drop.

What's their cause celeb now if not debt concerns? Why, no surprise, massive tax cuts for the wealthy and the corporations. GREED. GIMMIE, GIMMIE, GIMMIE, ALL MINE. Never mind that the national debt will soar into the MULTIPLE TRILLIONS if Trump and the Republicans get this idiocy passed. So how are they fantasizing to pay for their tax cuts? Why, other than getting rid of Obamacare or letting it fail, it's the old tried and true conservative favorite, just trim ALL those expensive government entitlement programs for the sick and the seniors, like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. It's just too expensive to keep these financial drains around anymore. Everything will be magically fixed once they're eliminated. From now on, everyone can just jolly well work until they die, healthy or not. Besides, all those tax breaks will fuel massive growth and create more jobs, which will mean more taxes are collected, all of which will miraculously offset those YUGE tax cuts. Uh huh, when pigs fly. An old delusion they keep foisting on us over and over ever since Reagan, like it's going to fly THIS TIME. Suckers.
