Retrovirus looks very promising.
You just need to go look. Looks a bit early, but it is a 6dof shooter and it appears to be well on it's way.

I've been playing the beta, beats the snuff out of MinerWars for me from a game play perspective. However, I can't get it to run for more than 10 minutes at a time without crashing. Hopefully this gets fixed, I really want to see how the game plays beyond the first couple scenes.

Re: Retrovirus looks very promising.
It still won't run at more than 4 frames per second -- and that only in certain rooms -- on my (not un-powerful) laptop. But that's an improvement from the alpha where it woudn't run at more than half a frame per second. Its still not enough to even alleviate the deadly geometry problem.
The way it's going, I probably won't be playing it seriously until this laptop dies and I get my next one.

Ugh, I ran into that one a couple of times when my system froze for a few seconds, and then the game thinks you slammed into the wall at a million miles per hour. Stupid Windows. I reported that as a bug on their website.Alter-Fox wrote:...the deadly geometry problem.

I think it's about time Retrovirus got its own forum section in this area.

Release date is 1/31/13. Unfortunately the current beta is unplayable for me (crashes after 10 minutes), but they say they will have that bug squished. It's promising, I tossed some money at it. Will be interesting to see if it gets a multiplayer following.
