Bah, go to a thrift store, find an old USB game pad, get some wood and switches and make it yerself. That's basically what I did for my sister, rigged up a footpedal. Though that pedal was an old amateur radio pedal.

Blender's UI was always a bit off to me...I could never get the hang of it. I've used Max before, and was able to do quite a few things with it, hopefully this'll help Blender become more easily usable to many UI-challenged such as myself.

It depends upon which libraries are used to compile the program. I believe that on Blender's web site they have pre-compiled binaries for Windows and Linux. I know for Kubuntu Blender was in the repos, though I don't know which version it is.

I like VNC, but if you don't want to screw around with forwarding ports, etc. Then I would reccomend Teamviewer I'm reasonably certain all traffic runs through their server(s) at one poitn or another, but the features it provides are really nice.

Is your game patched? Or are you just playing after installing from your CDs?

You can get the 1.4 patch from http://www.descent3.com. It'll help prevent the problem from happening again, but I'm fairly certain you'll have to restart the level.

Heh, the first console I ever owned was a PS one, but I had gotten that prolly in 2002, and then my friend gave me his PS2 when it started acting up, I fixed it and although I have used it, now I hardly use it, but I can play my copy of Descent on it :)

I'll do it once a week, usually on the weekend so I can look clean shaven for the start of the week. To be honest, after a certain point the hairs bug the heck outta me until they come off... The exception to this was deer season when you kinda want as much hair as you can get...
