FingerPrint 2. Works great, but have to have a system running on the network to facilitate it.

Re: Wireless works great on phone, horrible on PC - new equi
Do a wireless survey to find a channel that's free and check for interference. 10Mbps is pretty pathetic. 10Mbps over internet, not LAN. I figured out the problem. My wireless headphones transmitter, even though the headphones were off and not paired, still screws up the signal. As soon as I shut ...

Wireless works great on phone, horrible on PC - new equip.
I was running an old Netgear that would freak out whenever I had a few devices connected to it. Though I hadn't heard of Medialink, some people in the manufacturing shop where I worked asked me to boost the Wi-Fi signal so they could stream music better. Since Medialink was cheap and got good ...

You get what you pay for too. I always tell people, pay $300 for laptop and you'll hate it in a year. Pay $600, you'll hate it in 3 years. I have two employees running Lenovos, and one running an Asus. Both having been more stable than the HP predessors they replaced. I had to replace one HP ...

Re: Help me understand HP vs Torque
Thanks snoopy, that helped. That's where I was getting hung up - I kept seeing stats like ft-lbs indicating it can move with X force, but I was always asking myself, yeah ok but how fast? Then as Ferno said, the HP is how fast it's spinning at that Torque. Thanks for the help everyone, I knew there ...

Help me understand HP vs Torque
I suck at mechanics.... I am working on a project using small DC motors, and I'm trying to understand how all this Torque/HP stuff works so I can work on a diagram that indicates if I have X Torque at X RPM and it weighs X, it will move at roughly X speed. My understanding with torque is that it's a ...

Why is a gearbox geared this way?
Move to other forum if this isn't the best one.
Look at this image:
Though it's not to scale, hopefully it conveys the idea. Why does this gearbox have these series of motors, instead of just going straight from a small gear on the motor shaft to a big one on the axle?

Re: Feedback on idea for web development
It might be better to follow the packet tracer example. Make a program where its a virtual lab. You run the program, and in it you have a "virtual server" to host your "virtual pages" on and run scripts etc. You could load the program onto a disc and package it with the book. I recall using similar ...

Re: Feedback on idea for web development
Thank you everyone for the feedback - very helpful! I think this is a great idea, but I think it needs to be structured, like, built to use in tandem with a course study book..... I totally agree - the idea is that it would provide "study book" materials as you go through a given subject, in a ...

Re: Feedback on idea for web development
My primary motivation is that I personally feel that web coding, both development and education, could be much more streamlined. I would want a tool like this to use. Feedback on idea for web development
Looking for feedback, critical or not, on an idea I've been mulling around. Some time ago, I had the idea of creating a series of web development tutorials. 1) The best free alternative is a combination of Chrome or Firefox, with something like Notepad++. You're not going to quite get WYSIWYG, but it's close. Type you're code in Notepad++, and it formats it for you. Then use the Element Inspector in Chrome and Firefox to browse the code you create, and ...

For some strange reason, when I apply the centering to the wrapper, it appears to work, but the contents inside align to the left again. I see you have a lot of absolute positioning. That's kind of a no-no. But anyway, I did a quick chop job, making it more along the lines of modern web conventions ...
