Re: MAss Driver Mod
What Warlock said. I got the steam version. I'm running a glide wrapper as running just the straight vid makes the textures look really primitive. You will probably get no textures on the automap so disable bilinear filtering once in the game. That will fix that. I still have to re-choose my res ...

MAss Driver Mod
Hi All, Long time. I've reinstalled D3 and got it running (finally) on my Win10. Does anyone know where to grab the old mass driver mod that gave the ringlets slightly different colors? I've lost most my files over the years. It's also been ages since I've been here. Glad to see plenty of folks ...

To all you old timers out there and Lanners from the PNW. Vulcan aka Scott Newkirk passed May 20, 2020 from liver disease. I knew Scott a long time and he was a good man. The ol' codger and his conspiracy theories will be sorely missed. I lanned with Vulcan and a number of you all up at Claymation's ...

Hey All! Long time no see! Hey, I'm getting a new SSD for the first time like 5+ years (a: Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal) Do the new SSD's, should the paging file still be moved to a different drive (platter drive) to prevent wearing or have they fixed that? Thanks! SYSTEM: mobo ...

Re: Mouse/KB time for a change?
I think that's subjective.
Overload plays well with M&K, but personally I'd like to use a stick. Right now, the demo doesn't like my stick (Saitek X52) so I'm using a M&K.
In the demo, the ship plays a bit more like mouse look than the lilting turn of the pyro of D1 and D2.

Please remember that the game is fantasy and not based on real science. Puma is right, that is what the manual said, that is why I mentioned it. Neither of us are interested in interested in rehashing an argument that's over 15 years old. So really, the squid needs to visit another forum somewhere ...

Re: Ships would never be out of fuel unless designed before
energy centers were for robots originally and any other equipment that needed recharging. Energy consumption is a balancing element. If the robots last long enough that they WOULD need recharging, I recommend target practice before entering the mines again! So yeah, what Spidey said.

Had problems with a stick. The longer I played the worse the response became. In fact, I couldn't even use it after about 10 minutes. The axis registry just kept getting wider and wider. ^_^
But, as I learned Descent with a KB and mouse, I just switched over. Wish I had the money to throw at them. :\

I'll give them money, because I'm pretty much obligated to, but I honestly don't like the focus on keys->reactor->exit they're pushing for. Even my far younger self back in the late 90s began to tire of that after ten or so levels, and nowadays I don't know that I'd have the patience for a whole ...

Pulling in talent from over 30 years in gaming, their team has been hard at work on a new IP. The gravity-defying first-person shooter combines ...

Most of this is pretty common stuff. The meteor on the 31st was outside the orbit of the moon. granted at 600m, I wouldn't want it any closer. The one over Thailand was a common meteor. It probably wasn't that big and burned up in the atmosphere.

Also note that each bot is assigned prerogative and behavior. some may chase. Some may remain in the same spot even when attacking or being attacked.

Re: Fave PC game?
AMD has greatly improved since then.
It also depends on the games you run too. There are some that lean toward AMD and some to Nvidia. But that's always been the case. AMD is much more stable with infinitely better drivers support now than in the past.

That's nothing to sneeze at TC. It's a good card. By most respects it's as good or better than mine ( XFX Black Edition R9-280 ) and it does a great job! And by-n-large, most newer games and software have been made to go easier on older hardware but keep most the bling! ^_^
