I managed to talk MD into the converter, now I have to do it all over again... http://www.descentbb.net/ubb/tongue.gif The speed of the converter is reasonably good, it took me about 1 hour to convert 11,000 posts from the D3kBB, including the inital setup and double checking. The rate is about 300 ...

The size of the board shouldnt be a problem X, I've heard of people converting almost half a million posts, and once you get the converter running it pretty much does everything automatically. Send me a zip file with the entire DBB in it, and I could probably have a phpBB database ready in a couple ...

The music not playing after level 7 is a glitch in the Descent 1.0 ---> 1.5 patch. Dont use that patch, use the 1.0 ---> 1.4a then 1.4a ---> 1.5 patch and it will not happen.

By now the total amount of patches for 98SE (compressed) must exceed the amount of data on the 98SE CDROM and after all the updates and patches the only thing orignal to the 98SE install would be the sample desktop images.

Ya, disable compatibility mode, D3 runs native in XP. Tell it to only look for OpenGL, theres no need to search through D3D and Glide.

You dont use all 20 GB of a MP3 player for MP3s. They double as removible hard drives, you can put DVD rips, AVI files, documents, anything that fits on one of them and move it from one computer to another computer that way.

Impratical, batteries are too big, too much EMI from running the unit, and lithium batteries dont put out enough power.

OMG Renaming a BMP to a JPG does not equal compressing a BMP to a JPG!

Oh yeah, check virtual RAM settings in windows if the error keeps on showing up after a reboot. (system properties, advanced tab, performance button, advanced tab, etc.)

That Athlon FX system that had a compressor cooler on it and was running at 2.8 GHz could run pretty impressive. Just imagine a simillar cooler on dual opterons at that speed, defenately enough to give dual xeons a serious run for their money.
